Adult Chancel Choir
Rehearsal: Wednesdays, 6:30-7:45 p.m. in the Choir Room

The Adult Chancel Choir presents regularly during Sunday worship, special services, and cantatas throughout the liturgical year. Although we are a small group, every part (soprano, alto, bass, and tenor) is represented. Our tremendous repertoire of music includes a broad range of musical styles ranging from classical octavos, lively gospel arrangements, powerful rearrangements of familiar tunes, a cappella four-part melodies, to modern syncopated rhythms on contemporary adaptations and original tunes. These styles are accompanied by various instruments of all families of music including keyboard, strings, percussion, woodwinds, and brass, as well as full orchestral track accompaniments. The Adult Chancel Choir is versatile and always willing to learn new ways to worship and praise God through music.

Handbell Choir
Rehearsal: Wednesdays, 8:00-9:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary

The Bethany Handbell Choir has been in existence for over 40 years. We play five octaves of bells and three octaves of handchimes, and often add other instruments when we perform. Our musical repertoire varies from spirituals and gospel to jazz and contemporary. The handbell group plays in church about once a month.
We have members that have played from the very beginning of the choir, and members who picked up their first handbell within the last year or two. We welcome new ringers! If you can count, you can probably play handbells! We’ll teach you to read music if you haven’t already learned. Our practice time is from 8:00- 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings from August to June.
Please feel free to contact our Handbell Director Heather Fisher at relyeahn@gmail.com for more information.
Additional Music Opportunities
Outside of the Adult Chancel and Handbell Choirs, Bethany lovingly supports guest musical groups and individuals to share various styles of Christian music ranging from blue gross, folk, gospel, to contemporary and classical. From meditative instrumentals to solos, duets, and small ensembles, the congregation simply delights in the musical offerings of our guest musicians.
“Music Sunday,” typically occurring 3-4 per year, is another participative opportunity for guests and the congregation to participate in worship as the scriptures, readings, message, and all supporting elements of the worship service center around music. This is a great opportunity for a beginning or seasoned musician to share their musical gifts.
