Recycling
Styrofoam
One of our Bethany Church members, Sharon, collects styrofoam in order to take it to Elon United Methodist Church to be properly recycled. If you are interested in getting in contact with Sharon to pass on styrofoam (specifically polystyrene or plastic no. 6) contact the Church Office.
Backpack Buddies
We use plastic, grocery store bags to pack bags for the backpack buddies service project which brings weekend meals to students at Riverside High School. If you are interested in donating bags feel free to bring them to the church or church office.
Children's Books
Every year we provide school supplies and gently used children’s books to students at the Open House at Hillandale Elementary School. We are always looking to gather children’s books year round for the Back-to-School-Bash and our annual Trunk-of-Treats event on Halloween.
TerraCycle
We also are a collection location for certain TerraCycle programs. TerraCycle’s mission is to eliminate the idea of waste. The current programs we are involved in is the Entenmann’s Little Bites® Pouch Free Recycling Program and the Bimbo Bakeries USA Free Recycling Program. If you are interested in bringing in supplies to be recycled please feel free to drop them off at the church or get in contact with the Church Office. You will see examples of the recyclable products below. Thank you for your help in creating less waste.
