Bethany UMC Youth

Who we are:

  • A group of middle school and high school students who are Learning, Loving and Living as Jesus teaches
  • Our group is unique and creative and heavily involved in mission work
  • Some other fun activities that we participate in during our youth meeting times are: fishing, watching movies, New Year’s Eve lock-in’s, holiday celebrations, Durham Bulls baseball games, art expression, Pilgrimage (annual youth pilgrimage in Fayetteville, NC), and a variety of other fun activities depending on the group’s interests and desires
  • We are welcoming to anyone that would like to join us.

When we meet:

  • Sunday School: 9:50 am every Sunday
  • UMYF meets every week on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 8:00.  We share a meal together, enjoy the company of each other and crack open the Bible.

Ministries we are involved in:

  • Urban Ministries of Durham: We prepare and serve a meal every other month on the last Friday of the month (See calendar for specific dates)
  • Our past youth groups were very involved in out-of-state mission work, particularly disaster relief.  Some of the areas they traveled to include:
    • Red Bird Mission, KY
    • Philadelphia, PA
    • Goldsboro, NC
    • New Orleans, LA
  • Other ministries include Bethany Projects such as stew making, yard sales, Christmas Eve service luminaries, poinsettia sales, fundraising at Duke football games (help set up and sell merchandise), etc.

Other stuff you need to know about our group:

  • We are very accepting and open to diversity.
  • We are here to provide a safe space for learning about yourself and the God who made you and loves you!
  •  Come join us in our journey!
